Job summary

CyberCoders, an established labor and employment defense firm, seeks an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of Labor & Employment experience for their Pasadena or San Diego offices. The ideal candidate will handle wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims in both private and public sector contexts.

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and CA Bar in good standing are required. Excellent research, writing, and deadline management are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in labor and employment law, private practice or public sector
• Experience with L&E litigation matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
• Knowledge of California public sector labor law topics is a plus
• Active California Bar membership in good standing

Responsibilities

• Manage caseload involving labor and employment litigation across private and public sector matters
• Conduct discovery, draft motions and briefs, handle depositions
• Represent clients in hearings, conferences, dispositive motions and trials
• Advise clients on labor relations and public sector labor law compliance
• Collaborate on internal investigations, arbitrations, and advice work with partners

Established (40+ Years) AM Law 200 Defense Firm Seeking Associate Attorney for Labor & Employment in Pasadena or San Diego, CA

An established firm with over 40 years in practice is a leading full-service defense firm seeking an Associate Attorney with 2+ years of experience in labor and employment law to join their Pasadena, CA or San Diego, CA office. This role is ideal for attorneys with a background in private sector L&E litigation as well as those currently working in the public sector who are ready to transition to a private defense practice. The firm handles a broad range of matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, collective bargaining, and public sector labor law.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in labor and employment law, whether in private practice or the public sector
• Experience with L&E litigation matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
• Family arity with government law topics related to public sector employment, such as California's open meeting and public records laws, is a plus
• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials from a top 50 law school or top 15% of class from a non-top-50 school preferred
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• Solid research, writing, and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines

Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload involving labor and employment litigation across both private and public sector matters
• Conducting discovery, drafting motions and briefs, and handling depositions
• Representing clients in evidentiary hearings, status conferences, dispositive motions, and trial proceedings
• Advising clients on labor relations, collective bargaining agreements, and public sector labor law compliance
• Collaborating on non-litigation matters including internal investigations, labor arbitrations, and advice and counsel work alongside firm partners
