Job summary

The Law Office of Michael J Adams PC seeks an Associate Attorney to litigate debt collection matters in Texas. The role involves risk analysis, strategy development, and handling pre-suit through post-judgment matters.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in pre-suit and post-judgment matters.
  • Review filings and discovery to determine appropriate actions.
  • Prepare responses to discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Manage all aspects of hearings and trials as counsel.
  • Attend Texas court settings via virtual appearances and in-person when needed.
  • Provide analysis on legal and regulatory risks.
  • Draft, review, and edit reports, opinions, and correspondence.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $100,000.00 AnnuallyCreditor's Rights law firm seeking an Associate Attorney position for Texas

Job Summary:The Associate Attorney is responsible for litigating debt collection matters while independently engaging in risk analysis and strategy development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Represents clients in pre-suit and post-judgement matters.
  • Reviews correspondence and file information to determine if lawsuit or motion appropriate for filing.
  • Reviews answers and prepares responses to discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Manages all aspects of preparing for and appearing as counsel at hearings and trials.
  • Attends court settings throughout the state of Texas through virtual appearances.
  • Attends physical court settings as needed in courts in close proximity.
  • Provides analysis and advises on legal and regulatory risks.
  • Writes, reviews, and edits reports, opinions, correspondence, and other documents.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Background in litigationKnowledge of federal, state, and local laws with experience in collection law and/or courtroom experience.
  • Ability to work independentlyManaging shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Knowledge of the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA is a plus.
Education and Experience:
  • Requires a JD in law
  • Bar admission in Texas
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear, and use hand to type, handle, or touch objects.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk, and may be required to stoop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Pay:$85,000 to $100,000 per year
