Job description

Josiah Knapp Law, PC is a small general practice law firm with offices in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and New York State, handling both litigation and non-litigation matters. We represent businesses throughout the country, but a large part of our practice involves the representation of casinos in several states and internationally. We have an immediate opening for a full time, highly motivated, Associate Attorney to work out of our Center City, Philadelphia, PA office. The successful candidate does not need a great deal of experience, but they must have completed a civil judicial law clerkship in a New Jersey State court and they must be licensed in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Attorneys licensed in both New York and New Jersey will also be considered. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending Court, conducting discovery, taking depositions, legal research, brief writing, negotiating and settling cases. The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to learn Real Estate transactions, contract drafting and other transactional matters. The firm is looking for someone that would thrive in a dynamic working environment that provides substantial opportunities for professional development.

Every applicant for the position should have an outgoing personality, demonstrate strong communication and negotiation skills and have proficient research, writing, and analytical abilities along with a willingness to learn new areas of law.

The firm would also consider taking on a solo practitioner or an attorney with a small book of business, but who also has the majority of their time to spend on matters for Josiah Knapp Law, PC
