Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States seeks an experienced immigration attorney to advise on complex cases, conduct legal research, and draft policy documents. You will support the Legal Leadership Team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance and client advocacy.

Ideal candidates have a J.D., bar admission, 5+ years in immigration law, and at least 3 years in removal defense, with Spanish language skills preferred.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience as an immigration attorney.
  • 3+ years of removal defense experience, including hearings.
  • Preferred experience with humanitarian and family-based immigration, and consular processing.
  • Strong command of U.S. immigration law and related regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, legal writing, and research skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Sound judgment and ethical decision-making in client and firm matters.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred, with Spanish fluency strongly preferred.

  • Support the Legal Leadership Team in developing and implementing firmwide legal strategy and compliance initiatives.
  • Draft, review, and update legal documents and internal firm policy documents.
  • Draft, review, and conduct training sessions for internal teams.
  • Support the Legal Department as subject‑matter experts in immigration law to ensure legal consistency, compliance, and quality control.
  • Perform additional duties as determined by the Director Attorney.

Requirements
  • J.D. from an ABA‑accredited law school and current bar membership in good standing.
  • 5+ years of experience as an immigration attorney.
  • 3+ years of removal defense experience, including experience preparing for and representing clients in Master Calendar and Individual Calendar Hearings.
  • Preferred experience with humanitarian and family‑based immigration, and consular processing (e.g., VAWA; T visas; U visas; family‑based petitions; nonimmigrant and immigrant visas; naturalization; waivers; RFE/NOID/NOIR responses; appeals; and motions before USCIS and immigration court).
  • Strong command of U.S. immigration law and related federal regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, legal writing, and research skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
  • Sound judgment and ethical decision‑making in client and firm matters.
  • Demonstrated commitment to client advocacy, firm integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred, with Spanish fluency strongly preferred; additional language skills are a plus.
