Job summary

BCG Attorney Search represents a respected immigration law firm seeking an Associate Immigration Attorney in Silver Spring, MD. You will represent individuals and families in removal defense, family-based petitions, waivers, and naturalization, working closely with a collaborative legal team.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of immigration experience, a JD, active U.S. bar admission, and a commitment to client service and social justice.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; Maryland, Virginia or DC preferred.
  • 1–3 years of immigration law experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal counsel and representation in immigration matters including removal defense, family-based immigration, waivers, visas, and naturalization.
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Represent clients before USCIS, Immigration Courts, and BIA.
  • Conduct legal research and stay current on immigration law developments and policies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and fellow attorneys to manage caseloads.
  • Participate in community outreach, education events, and pro bono activities.

Job Overview

A respected immigration law firm is seeking a passionate and driven Associate Immigration Attorney to join its legal team. This position offers the opportunity to represent individuals and families in a wide range of immigration matters, including removal defense, family‑based petitions, waivers, and naturalization. Ideal candidates will have experience in immigration law, a strong sense of advocacy, and a desire to make a difference in clients’ lives. This opportunity is offered through a legal recruiting agency on behalf of the hiring firm. Location: Silver Spring, MD.

Duties
  • Provide legal counsel and representation in immigration matters including removal defense, family‑based immigration, waivers, visas, and naturalization.
  • Prepare and file immigration petitions, applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Represent clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), Immigration Courts, and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA).
  • Conduct legal research and remain current on immigration law developments and policies.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing case updates and legal guidance.
  • Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and fellow attorneys to manage caseloads.
  • Participate in community outreach, education events, and pro bono activities.
Requirements
  • 1–3 years of experience practicing immigration law (preferred).
  • Familiarity with removal proceedings, family‑based petitions, and USCIS/BIA procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Commitment to client service and social justice.
Education & Certifications
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction; admission in Maryland, Virginia, or Washington, D.C. preferred.
