Job summary

Protouch Staffing seeks a Federal Litigation Supervisor to lead a federal immigration practice, overseeing the team, docket, filings, and court calendar in Texas. You will manage habeas, mandamus, APA matters, and Fifth Circuit appeals, while coordinating with production staff and outside counsel. Strong leadership and mentoring of junior attorneys are essential.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, in good standing.
  • 5+ years federal litigation (immigrant habeas/mandamus/APA preferred).
  • Admitted to a Texas federal district court and/or the Fifth Circuit, or admission within 90 days.
  • Preferred: Fifth Circuit briefing; small-team supervision; knowledge of removal, detention, and USCIS.

Responsibilities

  • Runs federal immigrant litigation: the team, the docket, the filings, and the court calendar.

  • File. Draft or make the draft file-ready, e-file, and calendar dates.
  • Manage the liaison attorney, assigned staff, and outside counsel when used.
  • Coordinate facts with the immigration production team so the federal filing matches the underlying file.
  • Appear in Texas federal district courts and the Fifth Circuit as needed.
  • Keep a live docket report. No silent cases.
  • Train juniors on habeas and mandamus.
