Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in any area of law.
• Experience drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions.
• Licensed to practice law in Indiana.
• Proficiency with Lexis and MS Office.
• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, orders, discovery and legal memoranda.
• Prepare and respond to written discovery.
• Conduct legal research.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Review client documents, draft case evaluations and prepare status report correspondence.
• Assist with and participate in mediations, pretrial settlement conferences and court appearances.
• Interact directly with clients, claim professionals, opposing counsel, colleagues and staff.
• Manage a substantive caseload.

Job Summary

Client is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with 2 plus years of experience in any area of law for its Indianapolis office. The ideal candidate will have experience drafting and arguing motions, taking and defending depositions, and providing factual and legal analysis to clients. The individual must be dedicated, highly motivated, and interested in practicing among our team of more than 100 attorneys who value legal acumen, collaboration, open and honest communication, integrity and professionalism. Must be licensed to practice in Indiana.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, orders, discovery and legal memoranda;
• Prepare and respond to written discovery;
• Conduct legal research;
• Take and defend depositions;
• Review client documents, draft case evaluations and prepare status report correspondence;
• Assist with and participate in mediations, pretrial settlement conferences and court appearances;

• And manage a substantive case load.

Requirements

• Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Indiana;
