Job summary

JOHNSON DELUCA KURISKY & GOULD, P.C. in Houston seeks an Associate Attorney to represent clients in State and Federal Courts with a focus on Commercial Litigation.

You will perform initial case assessment, draft pleadings, conduct discovery, and advise clients on business and legal transactions. The role requires Texas bar licensure, at least four years in a law firm, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed to practice in Texas.
  • Minimum 4+ years in a law firm environment.
  • Trial experience preferred.

About the Company

The Firm represents plaintiffs and defendants in a wide range of commercial matters, including corporations, labor and employment, business, energy, oil and gas, probate and trust, real estate, and bankruptcy in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration.

About the Role

Associate Attorney will represent clients in State and Federal Courts in a wide array of cases with a focus on Commercial Litigation.

Responsibilities
  • Initial case assessment and investigation
  • Draft pleadings and handle the discovery process
  • Consult with clients and conduct pre-trial activities
  • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
  • Advise clients on business and legal transactions
  • Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
  • Comply with all legal standards and regulations
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
  • Conduct legal research as needed for drafting Motions to be filed with the Court
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a Law Firm environment
  • Personal Injury experience preferred
  • Ability to take and defend depositions
  • Familiarity with various legal documents
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Required Skills
  • Licensed to practice in the State of Texas
  • Previous Law Firm experience of 4 years or more
  • Trial experience preferred
