Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Licensed to practice in Texas.
• Admission to the US District Court for the Southern District of TX or ability to obtain it.
• Experience taking and defending depositions.
• Strong ability to build trust with and communicate with clients.

Responsibilities

• Handle docket of plaintiff-side employment matters in state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative proceedings
• Take ownership of caseload from intake through resolution
• Take and defend depositions
• Represent employees in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, medical leave, wage and hour, whistleblower, and failure-to-accommodate claims

Location: Houston, TX | Job Type: Hybrid (HOUSTON - MUST LIVE THERE OR RELOCATE)

Our client, a well-regarded national employment law firm founded in Seattle, seeks a litigation associate to join their growing team. This firm advocates for workers across industries at every level against employers of all sizes, including many major corporations. They are recognized by Super Lawyers, Martindale-Hubbell, and Best Lawyers and are active in the National Employment Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association.

What You’ll Do:

• Handle docket of plaintiff-side employment matters in state and federal courts, arbitration, and administrative proceedings
• Take ownership of caseload from intake through resolution
• Take and defend depositions
• Represent employees in discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful termination, medical leave, wage and hour, whistleblower, and failure-to-accommodate claims

What They’re Looking For:

• At least 2+ years of civil litigation experience (insurance defense or related backgrounds welcome)
• Ability to manage ALL phases of litigation
• Licensed to practice in Texas
• JD from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to the US District Court for the Southern District of TX or the ability to obtain it
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Strong ability to build trust with and communicate with clients
• Base salary in the low to mid $100Ks, with high-performance incentive compensation
• Most attorneys earn $200K+, with top performers exceeding $300K
