Job description

The Direct Hire Division of Consilio, LLC is working with a highly regarded firm that is seeking to hire an Associate Attorney to join their Dallas, TX office. This position is not with Consilio directly; it is a direct hire, permanent opportunity with the law firm.

About the firm:

This role is with a leading plaintiff-side litigation firm that is dedicated to fighting against corporate injustices, specifically as it pertains to cases involving defective medical devices, pharmaceutical injuries, catastrophic personal injury, water pollution, and environmental damage. They have a national presence, are committed to the growth of their attorneys, and a very active caseload.

About the role:

In this role, you will gain hands‑on court room experience, as there are multiple trials anticipated nationwide over the next year. Ideal candidates are proactive litigators with a background in plaintiff personal injury, toxic exposure, medical device, and/or sexual assault cases who are eager to take on substantial responsibility in a fast‑paced, growth‑oriented environment.

Primary duties include:

  • Leading and supporting all phases of civil litigation, including case investigation, evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Drafting and filing pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, and handling document review and production.
  • Managing discovery processes, including depositions, requests for production, and interrogatories.
  • Working closely with expert witnesses, including evaluating and preparing them for trial.
  • Assisting in trial preparations, including evidence organization, witness coordination, and courtroom support.
  • Participating in settlement negotiations and post‑trial activities as needed.
  • Collaborating daily with a talented trial team comprised of 3 partners and 4 associates, contributing to a variety of high‑profile cases.

There is no billable hour requirement, and the position is bonus eligible. The position is ideal for attorneys who want substantive courtroom experience and are committed to advocacy in challenging, meaningful cases. Must be able to commute to Dallas daily; this in‑office role offers a vibrant team environment and direct courtroom engagement.

About you:
  • 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably from plaintiff‑side personal injury firms handling complex, expert‑driven cases.
  • Actual trial and litigation experience; candidates with limited trial experience but significant case work‑up are encouraged to apply.
  • Background in toxic torts, such as pesticide exposure (paraquat, glyphosate), asbestos/talc, medical devices, or sexual assault cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle casework independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong research, drafting, and analytical skills.
  • Well‑organized, flexible, and proactive with a desire to develop trial skills across a national docket.
  • Empathetic and sensitive to the nature of the cases, with a team‑oriented mindset.
