Gerstle & Snelson, LLP is a litigation firm with offices in Dallas and Austin, Texas. Our practice is primarily focused on construction-related matters. We represent owners, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors, product manufacturers, and materials suppliers in the construction, architecture, and engineering industries. Our cases range from multi-million-dollar commercial and industrial projects to individual residential disputes.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a First-Year Associate Attorney with 1–2 years of experience to join our Dallas office. This role provides immediate, hands-on experience in litigation, with the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate actively in all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
• Attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and other court proceedings.
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, and other filings.
• Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses.
• Collaborate closely with partners, associates, and support staff in a team-oriented environment.

Desired Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience (clerkships or internships may be considered).
• Interest in construction law and litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Highly organized with strong time management and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to travel within Texas, including occasional overnight trips.
• A proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for professional growth.
• Experience in the construction, architecture, or engineering industries is a plus, but not required.
