Role Description

The Litigation Attorney is a full-time, on-site role based in Annapolis, MD. This role involves managing a litigation docket from inception through resolution, including case assessment, strategy development, drafting pleadings and motions, and conducting discovery. The attorney will appear in courts across Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia, handle hearings and trials, and take and defend depositions. Day-to-day responsibilities include client counseling, legal research, document review, negotiation of settlements, and collaboration with colleagues and staff to move cases efficiently. The attorney will also help with advisory work related to corporate and real estate matters as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, with experience in corporate, real estate, and 3-5 years experience in general civil litigation.
• Demonstrated ability to draft and argue Motions, including dispositive motions, discovery motions, and procedural filings.
• Experience practicing before various Courts, with familiarity in local rules and litigation procedures in MD, VA, and DC.
• Proven skill in managing Trials, including preparation of witnesses, exhibits, and trial strategy.
• Ability to conduct Depositions effectively, including taking, defending, and analyzing testimony.
• Active license to practice law in Maryland; admission in Virginia and/or the District of Columbia is strongly preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail and clear communication.
• Strong client service orientation, professional demeanor, and ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and relevant litigation experience in a law firm or comparable setting.
