Job summary

Selzer Gurvitch Rabin Wertheimer & Polott, P.C., a Bethesda, Maryland law firm, seeks a Litigation Associate to join its on-site team in Bethesda. The role involves drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery, conducting legal research, and helping shape case strategy under supervision.

You will prepare deposition outlines, communicate with clients and opposing counsel, manage case files and deadlines, and support senior attorneys in hearings and trials while collaborating with the litigation

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation principles and procedures.
• Experience drafting and responding to Motions and other litigation-related filings.
• Proficiency in legal Research using relevant tools and databases.
• Familiarity with Depositions, including preparation, review, and summaries.
• Comfort working with various Courts, including state and local courts in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active bar admission (or eligibility for prompt admission) in Maryland.
• Excellent written and oral advocacy skills, attention to detail, and strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, work collaboratively in a team environment, and interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
• Prior litigation experience, clerkship, or relevant internship experience is preferred.

Role Description

The Litigation Associate will work on-site in Bethesda, MD in a full-time capacity.
