Job summary

William & Mary is seeking an Associate Athletic Director for Compliance & Administration to lead the university’s athletics compliance program. The role oversees policy development, eligibility processes, and education on NCAA and conference rules for student-athletes, coaches and staff.

The position requires substantial NCAA compliance knowledge, excellent communication, and leadership experience in a college athletics setting.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required and significant experience in athletic compliance or policy development.
• Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and ability to interpret and apply them.
• Excellent oral and written communication, with public speaking experience valued.
• Preferred: J.D. and experience in athletic coaching or compliance offices at NCAA member institutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee compliance policy development and department oversight in NCAA rules and regulations.
• Coordinate eligibility processes and liaise with Registrar, Admissions, and Academic Support Services.
• Develop and deliver education programs on NCAA and conference rules for athletes, coaches, and staff.
• Supervise the Compliance and Academic Support Services staff and ensure timely evaluations and reporting.
