A leading university is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer to oversee injury management and rehabilitation for student-athletes. This full-time role requires a Master's degree and experience in athletic training. The position offers a collaborative environment, focusing on innovative care and compliance with treatment plans. The Associate Athletic Trainer will conduct and supervise injury and illness prevention, injury management, immediate care, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, as well as provide ongoing patient supervision to ensure compliance with treatment plans, expectations, and standing operating procedures under the medical supervision of the team physician as required by Maryland State Practice Act. This position will report to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and must be able to work in a creative and collaborative team environment where change is embraced, and innovation is encouraged. The incumbent will manage administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. This individual will supervise other members of the athletic training staff as designated by the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. This individual may also serve as a preceptor to mentoring athletic training students in the athletic training rooms. This position will take on various other duties at the discretion of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
In consultation with the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Team Physicians, the Associate Athletic Trainer will facilitate all health care for student-athletes associated with a sport or sports to be determined, which includes formulating effective therapeutic treatment plans, implementing treatments, monitoring progress, and returning student-athletes to play. This incumbent must possess technical and practical expertise in the appropriate application and supervision of a wide range of rehabilitative exercises/ therapy and diagnostic equipment.
