Job summary

California State University, Fresno seeks an Associate Athletic Director for Internal Operations to lead facilities and event operations, oversee the equipment room, and guide assigned sport programs. The role directs IT staff within Athletics and ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations that support student-athlete success and enhance fan experience.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NCAA rules, compliance requirements, and athletics operations.
• Ability to supervise staff and/or head coaches, including performance management and professional development.
• Knowledge of strategic planning and budget principles and practices and fiscal accountability.
• Knowledge of home athletic event operations, including safety, risk management, and game-day execution.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, contest agreements, and sport program logistics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee facilities and event operations across all athletic venues.
• Supervise sport programs and assigned staff, including budgeting and purchasing oversight.
• Coordinate with coaches, student-athletes, and campus partners to align with NCAA standards.
• Lead long-term facilities planning and cross-department collaboration on budgets.
• Manage budget processes, cost analyses, and strategic financial decisions for programs.
