Job summary

Foremost Construction NY is seeking an experienced real estate asset management professional to provide strategic financial and operational insights across an 18,000+ unit multifamily portfolio in New York, New Jersey, and Florida.

You will partner with Leadership, Property Management, and Accounting to drive portfolio performance, develop budgets, forecasts, and actionable reporting while mentoring junior analysts in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Accounting, Economics, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in real estate asset management with solid understanding of property-level financials; multifamily preferred.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency, including budgets and financial models with complex formulas.
  • Strong business acumen, analytical mindset, and ability to balance detail with big-picture thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills—able to influence, present, and partner with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation of detailed annual budgets, monthly/quarterly property and portfolio reporting, financial forecasts, capital plans, and variance analyses.
  • Monitor leasing, pricing, occupancy, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
  • Develop and maintain customized financial and operational reports to support initiatives, including revenue optimization and cost management.
  • Review analyst reports for accuracy; ensure reports clearly communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Research economic, demographic, and industry trends; benchmark against competitors; deliver actionable portfolio insights.
  • Track capital projects and renovations, ensuring alignment with scope, timing, and return expectations.
  • Deliver concise asset reporting to the Asset Manager on KPIs, financial performance, and milestones.
  • Support system enhancements, process improvements, and special projects as needed.
  • Mentor and guide junior analysts as applicable.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced real estate professional to play a key role in residential asset management, providing strategic financial and operational insights while directly impacting portfolio performance. The Associate will serve as a trusted partner to leadership, Property Management, and Accounting teams, contributing to decision-making and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation of detailed annual budgets, monthly/quarterly property and portfolio reporting, financial forecasts, capital plans, and variance analyses.

  • Review analyst reports for accuracy. Ensure reports clearly communicate key trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Research economic, demographic, and industry trends; benchmark against competitors; and deliver actionable insights that inform portfolio decisions.
  • Track capital projects and renovations, ensuring alignment with approved scope, timing, and return expectations.
  • Deliver clear, concise asset reporting to the Asset Manager on key operating metrics, financial performance, and project milestones.
  • Support system enhancements, process improvements, and special projects as needed.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior analysts as applicable.

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of accountability for key responsibilities and quality of deliverables, while maintaining a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
