Job summary

Chromalox is seeking an Associate Application Engineer, Electric Heat Trace (EHT) to analyze heat trace applications and design cost-effective, customer-focused solutions. You will support the sales team with technical expertise and collaborate with design engineering on quotes and orders.

This role is primarily remote, but requires residence within a reasonable commuting distance to attend on-site gatherings, training, and activities as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of related experience; technical degree or equivalent experience required.
• BS in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering preferred.
• Role is primarily remote; must reside within commuting distance for on-site activities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• AutoCAD and Bluebeam preferred but not required.
• Experience in fast-paced, team-oriented environments with attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in verbal and written forms.

Responsibilities

• Design and quote premium heat trace solutions for standard and custom applications.
• Coordinate quotes and order entry with sales, engineering, and plant personnel.
• Understand markets and competition to manage quotations of designs.
• Assist sales engineers with thermal solution recommendations for unique applications.
• Determine material and cost requirements in collaboration with engineering and purchasing.
• Manage pricing and margins for key accounts and new opportunities.
• Become proficient with product design and pricing tools.
• Assist customers and reps in troubleshooting equipment or applications.
• Approve and support orders; participate in cross-functional meetings to align delivery dates.
• Lead meetings with engineering, production, project management, and sales for large orders.
