Job summary

Monti Inc. in Cincinnati seeks an Associate Software Engineer, Intelligent Systems, to design, build, test, and support AI-enabled internal applications, automations, and integrations.

You will work with AI coding tools, cloud platforms, and business systems to turn operational problems into practical software, learning quickly in a hands-on team environment and contributing to production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong comfort using AI coding tools such as Codex, Claude Code, ChatGPT, or similar systems.
• Basic software development experience in one or more languages such as TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, C#, or similar.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, pull requests, and code review workflows.
• Basic understanding of APIs, databases, authentication, and cloud services.
• Comfort working in a terminal and reading logs/errors.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly and ask clear questions.
• Strong written communication and documentation habits.
• Careful judgment when working with sensitive business data.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain internal tools, automations, and AI-assisted workflows.
• Use Codex, Claude Code, and similar tools effectively as part of daily development.
• Assist with LLM-powered workflows such as classification, extraction, summarization, research, and document processing.
• Write clear, maintainable code with tests where appropriate.
• Help integrate systems using APIs, databases, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Azure, and third-party platforms.
• Help debug issues across systems, including application code, cloud services, logs, credentials, and data flows.
• Support production systems with monitoring, documentation, and careful change management.
• Work with business users to understand real workflows before building solutions.
• Document decisions, setup steps, known issues, and operational procedures.
• Learn Monti's systems and gradually take ownership of small-to-medium projects.
• Example projects include dashboards, automated workflows, AI-assisted classification, monitoring improvements.
