Job summary

Figure is hiring an Associate AI Engineer to operate and improve our conversational AI systems. You will develop Python services, APIs, and data pipelines while receiving coaching to grow into a full-stack AI engineer.

Initial work focuses on AI-powered chat and customer-support workflows, including testing, analytics, and secure production releases. You’ll partner with engineers and domain experts to improve decision quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong Python programming experience.
• SQL and data analysis with structured data.
• Ability to break ambiguous problems into testable components.
• Experience evaluating AI agents or LLMs is a plus.
• Degree in economics, CS, statistics, engineering, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate and improve conversational AI systems and tooling.
• Build Python services and APIs; develop data pipelines and eval tools.
• Ensure security, observability, and governance of production AI workflows.
• Collaborate with engineers and domain experts to implement workflows.
• Design tests, monitoring, and release processes for production reliability.
• Contribute to internal tools and interfaces and learn deployment practices.
