Job summary

Thoriva, an Infinite Company, seeks an Associate Application Developer to apply AI-assisted development within an enterprise mainframe environment. You will reduce backlog through analysis, documentation, testing, automation, and targeted development while building reusable modernization assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with a modern language such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to analyze, generate, test, or troubleshoot software.
• Foundational understanding of software development concepts, source control, APIs, testing, and data structures.
• Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and break complex problems into steps.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work with legacy systems and mainframe modernization contexts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to apply AI-assisted tooling for code generation, testing, and documentation.
• Develop utilities, scripts, services, or APIs to modernize legacy workflows.
• Analyze legacy source code, docs, and data structures to support backlog reduction.
• Translate business logic into technical docs, tests, and modernization requirements.
• Create proofs of concept and reusable patterns linking mainframe capabilities with cloud or web tech.
• Maintain unit and automated tests, and relevant engineering artifacts.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and release activities with guidance for early-career developers.
• Adhere to secure SDLC, responsible AI, and established engineering standards.
