Job summary

Rochester Regional Health seeks an Associate Addiction Therapist (Part Time) in Clifton Springs, NY. The role focuses on patient screening, intake, case management, crisis response and coordination with community providers within the Behavioral Health Therapy department.

The position requires CASAC-T within 12 months or equivalent internship/experience in chemical dependency, and may advance to group facilitation and education under supervision.

Qualifications

• Ability to gain CASAC-T certification within 12 months.
• Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or at least 1 year of work experience in chemical dependency.

Responsibilities

• Screening of clients presenting for admission to substance use disorder programs.
• Intake and orientation.
• Case management, referrals, care coordination and connection to community providers and services.
• Provides basic crisis responses and client support pre and post admission.
• Group facilitation as permitted under supervision and oversight.
• Provides psychiatric and addiction education.
• Reporting and record keeping for programs and outside stakeholders (OASAS, legal, county, grants).
• Engaging clients during intake and pre-admission via telephonic, video and in person methods.
• Preparing and obtaining toxicology screens (observing).
• Interdisciplinary team participation in delivery of patient care.

Schedule: Monday – Friday, (9:0 AM – 3:0 PM)

SUMMARY:

The Associate Therapist provides patient screening, orientation, case management, and basic crisis response. The Associate Addiction Therapist will also perform additional tasks as permitted by OASAS Scope of Practice which may include Intake, Group facilitation, psych education, referrals, care coordination, reporting and record keeping.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Screening of clients presenting for admission to substance use disorder programs.

• Participates as a contributing member of an interdisciplinary team in coordination and delivery of patient care.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to gain CASAC-T certification in 12 months.
• Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or at least one (1) year of work experience in chemical dependency

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• CASAC-P preferred

QHP – Qualified Health Professional – NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
