Job summary

National Life Group is seeking an Associate Actuary to advance actuarial analytics and data-driven decision support in our Actuarial Innovation team. The role partners with Valuation, MCoE, Finance, Risk, and Product Development to modernize models and platforms, enabling transparent financial forecasting and strategic initiatives.

The position emphasizes AI-enabled tooling, dashboards, and collaboration across functions, with an onsite schedule four days a week in Addison, TX.

Qualifications

• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of actuarial valuation and/or modeling experience.
• In-depth understanding of life insurance and/or annuity products and features.
• Strong actuarial knowledge, including valuation, financial reporting, forecasting, or modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex results.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to work across actuarial, finance, risk, product, and technology teams.
• Proficiency in actuarial modeling software (e.g., PolySystems, MG-ALFA, GGY-AXIS).
• Proficiency in database software/systems (e.g., SQL, DataBricks).
• Proven ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to stakeholders across functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced actuarial analytics to support strategic initiatives and forecasting.
• Analyze actuarial, financial, and operational results to identify drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Translate complex results into executive-ready insights and recommendations.
• Collaborate with Valuation, MCoE, Finance, Risk, Product Development, and other teams to design analytical approaches.
• Create dashboards and visualizations to improve transparency into results and metrics.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI, ML, automation, and modern tech to actuarial processes.
• Support transformation initiatives in models, data platforms, and controls.
