Job summary

TreeHouse Foods is seeking an Associate Accountant to support the month-end close and financial reporting within our Accounting & Finance organization. You will prepare journal entries, perform reconciliations, analyze variances, and provide analytical support to business teams.

This hybrid, first-shift role requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least two years of experience; CPA is preferred. Proficiency in Excel and SAP/BPC/BlackLine is advantageous for growth with us.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and at least two years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and analytical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams; experience with SAP, BPC, BlackLine, or similar accounting tools is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly internal financial packages and external reporting requirements.
• Support projects focused on improving reporting, increasing efficiency, and strengthening finance processes.

• Participate in ongoing internal control reviews and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
• Identify opportunities to use artificial intelligence tools to improve process efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, gathering sample data, and resolving audit items.

About the Role

The Associate Accountant supports the month-end accounting process for the Accounting & Finance organization at TreeHouse Foods. In this role, you will help ensure the timely and accurate completion of the month-end close and preparation of financial statements. You will also provide analytical support to business teams through account analysis, financial reporting, audits, and the maintenance of accounting systems and processes. This position offers exposure to multiple areas of finance, including SG&A, plant accounting, and internal and external reporting.

You’ll add value to this role by performing various functions, including:

• Preparing journal entries, completing account reconciliations, analyzing account activity, investigating variances, and supporting other month-end close activities.
• Assisting with the preparation of monthly internal financial packages and external reporting requirements.

Important Details

• This is a full-time, hybrid role operating on first shift.
• The anticipated compensation for this position ranges from $52,000.00 - 78,000.00 USD Annually. This is the lowest to highest pay we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs. For certain roles, the successful candidate may be eligible for annual discretionary merit compensation award or bonus.
