Michael Kors in New York is seeking an Associate 3D Designer, Hard Surface, for a full-time role in the NY metro area. You will import, convert, and optimize 3D assets for Unreal Engine 5, create high-quality hard surface models, and collaborate with asset artists and lead technicians to deliver ready-to-use assets for virtual showroom and product configurator.

• 1–3 years as Asset Artist in VFX/3D fashion/game environments.
• Proficient in Maya, ZBrush and Substance Suite with strong topology.
• Experience with Unreal Engine 5 and real-time rendering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Import and convert 3D files from factories, optimize geometry (tri to quad).
• Create UVs and organize assets in the database.
• Texture, recolor, and render assets; assist with asset artists.
• Work with Lead Scan Technician on file cleanup and quality control.
• Support PC asset setup with proper grouping and material mapping.

You demonstrate a passion for the brand, love learning, and accomplishing goals**What You’ll Do:*** Importing existing 3D files from factories and converting from tri geometry to quad geometry.* A good eye for proportions and details* Cutting UVs, and organizing these files in our database* Archive maintenance per department standards* Importing scan files and work with Lead Scan Technician to clean up the files* Converting high poly files to Real Time ready, reducing point count, back-faces, hidden parts, etc* Working within hi-lo workflow (displacement map generation) to ensure functionality in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) for Virtual Showroom (VSR), and Product Configurator (PC).
