Job summary

Jobtailor in Washington, DC seeks a communications professional to monitor client news in real time, prepare backgrounders and media lists, perform competitive analyses, and identify media opportunities for clients.

You will support multiple accounts, coordinate daily activities, draft press materials, and deliver timely updates on media, legislation, and stakeholders. A Bachelor's Degree and 2+ years in public relations or digital media are required; you must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor client news in real time and alert internal teams and clients to key issues.
  • Prepare reporter backgrounders and media lists.
  • Perform competitive analyses of clients and peer groups.
  • Identify and analyze research and media coverage on industry trends.
  • Handle logistics for media and client meetings, announcement days, and other client events.
  • Identify and assess media and visibility opportunities for clients.
  • Support several client accounts.
  • Deliver timely news updates and analysis on media, legislation, and political stakeholders.
  • Develop a strong understanding of clients' issues and businesses.
  • Prepare key client documents, particularly press and stakeholder lists.
  • Coordinate and implement daily account activities.

Job description

  • Media relations experience with proven results and demonstrated experience working with and pitching to reporters is a plus
  • 2+ years of communications, public relations, digital media, or comparable job experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future
