Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited top tier university with a degree in finance, economics, or related field with a 3.5 minimum GPA;
• Extremely intellectually curious and highly self-motivated;
• 2-4+ years of experience in private equity, private credit, investment banking;
• Prior direct investing/investment banking or lending/credit experience preferred;
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
• Excellent organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously;
• Ability to work independently;
• Personal interest in investing and Private Equity;
• Ties to Texas/or strong reason to reside in Dallas for the long term

Responsibilities

• Diligence: Conduct detailed analysis of new investment opportunities through review of transaction portfolios and sponsor capabilities; and quantitative analyses to assess financial performance of underlying assets in support of investment underwriting
• Underwriting: Preparation of materials for Investment Committee consideration including investment memoranda, supporting documentation and analyses, and financial modeling
• Monitoring: Management of the GP Solutions investment portfolio including review and synthesis of quarterly and annual reporting investment sponsors, internally constructed valuation analyses, preparation of quarterly and annual investment activity and performance reporting for investors, and annual third-party audit support
• Other: Pipeline management; assist as needed with other assignments and in outside business development efforts; establish strong working relationships with other team members, operate effectively with limited oversight while meeting tight timelines

Selby Jennings is representing a rapidly growing alternative investment platform is seeking an Associate to join its GP Solutions team in Dallas. The team provides bespoke capital solutions to private equity sponsors across a broad spectrum of transactions, including NAV financing, preferred equity, GP management company financing, continuation vehicles, and other fund-level structured capital solutions. This is a unique opportunity to join a lean, entrepreneurial team investing across a highly specialized and rapidly expanding segment of the private markets. Associates will gain exposure to the full investment lifecycle, including origination, diligence, underwriting, execution, portfolio management, and business development, while working directly alongside senior investment professionals.
