Job summary

Burr & Forman seeks an Associate with 2-4 years of litigation experience to join its General Commercial Litigation practice in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be based in Charleston/Daniel Island, with flexibility for Greenville or Columbia locations.

The associate will work on a diverse range of commercial and health care litigation matters, gain hands-on experience across all stages of a case, and collaborate closely with partners while taking on increasing responsibility.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of litigation experience.
• Admission to the South Carolina Bar.
• Based in South Carolina.
• Experience with discovery, motion practice, and depositions.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Willingness to travel within South Carolina for depositions, mediations, and other case-related matters.

Summary

Burr & Forman is seeking an Associate with 2-4 years of experience to join our General Commercial Litigation practice in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be based in Charleston/Daniel Island, although candidates in Greenville or Columbia will also be considered. The associate will work on a diverse range of commercial litigation and health care litigation matters and will gain hands on experience across all stages of a case. This is an opportunity to join a busy and growing litigation practice, work closely with and learn from experienced partners, and take on increasing responsibility as their skills develop.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of litigation experience
• Admission to the South Carolina Bar and based in South Carolina
• Experience discovery, motion practice, and preparing for depositions
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
• Ability to manage assignments effectively with moderate supervision
• Strong judgment, initiative, and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel within South Carolina for depositions, mediations, and other case-related matters

Preferred Experience

• Experience taking depositions and arguing motions
• Medical malpractice and/or skilled nursing litigation experience
• Trial experience is a plus but is not required
