Job summary

Burr & Forman LLP seeks an Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join our General Commercial Litigation practice in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be based in Charleston/Daniel Island, although candidates in Greenville or Columbia will also be considered.

The associate will work on a diverse range of commercial litigation and health care litigation matters and should be comfortable taking an active role throughout the life cycle of a case.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of substantive litigation experience.
• Admission to the South Carolina Bar and based in South Carolina.
• Experience taking depositions and arguing motions.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.

Summary

Burr & Forman is seeking an Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join our General Commercial Litigation practice in South Carolina. The ideal candidate will be based in Charleston/Daniel Island, although candidates in Greenville or Columbia will also be considered. The associate will work on a diverse range of commercial litigation and health care litigation matters and should be comfortable taking an active role throughout the life cycle of a case. This is an opportunity to join a busy and growing litigation practice, work closely with experienced partners, and take on meaningful responsibility across a varied caseload.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of substantive litigation experience
• Admission to the South Carolina Bar and based in South Carolina
• Experience taking depositions and arguing motions
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills
• Ability to take ownership of matters and move cases forward with minimal supervision
• Strong judgment, initiative, and organizational skills
• Willingness to travel within South Carolina for depositions, mediations, and other case-related matters

Preferred Experience

• Medical malpractice and/or skilled nursing litigation experience
• Trial experience is a plus but is not required
