Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field is required.
• Valid Texas teacher certificate in Special Education or related field.
• Three years of successful classroom teaching experience.
• Knowledge of assistive technology devices and implementation strategies.
• Knowledge of augmentative communication devices and related programming.

Responsibilities

• Monitor supplementary aids and services to students receiving assistive technology.
• Collaborate with instructional staff and model strategies for integration of AT in the general curriculum.
• Provide coaching, training, and resources to staff for AT supports and professional growth.
• Plan and implement direct training to service providers and parents of students receiving AT services.
• Maintain documentation of AT services and equipment for staff and students.
• Coordinate with school and technical staff for reporting of equipment repairs and deployment of AT devices.
• Plan and manage the AT budget, inventory, and equipment.
• Monitor AT assessment reports and ensure timely completion of documents.
