Job summary

Green Hills Assisted Living in Ames seeks a hospitality-minded Resident Aide/CNAs to join our growing team. You will assist with personal care, document care, and administer medications under RN/LPN delegation, while following safety protocols and ensuring resident wellbeing.

Candidates must have CNA licensure, Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry coverage, and be able to complete the Medication Manager course within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must hold active CNA licensure and Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry.
• Provide personal care and medication administration under RN/LPN delegation.
• Accurately document nursing care and observations.
• Maintain confidentiality and pass pre-employment checks.
• 18+ for Medication Manager course within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Document nursing care after assisting a resident.

• Perform and chart ADLs per each resident's plan.
• Administer medications under supervision of RN/LPN.

Shifts Available: Please indicate in the prescreening questions whether you are seeking full-time or part-time employment and which shift(s) you are available to work. All positions will work every other weekend.

DAYS: 6:00AM - 2:00PM

EVENINGS: 2:00PM - 10:00PM

OVERNIGHTS: 10:00pm-6:00am

Starting Wage:$19.00/hr. Additional compensation for experience.

Green Hills is actively looking for a hospitality-minded Resident Aide, to join our growing team! Resident Aides assist with the personal care of tenants/residents and administration of medications under the delegation of a registered nurse; provides care as assigned by the charge nurse and does appropriate documentation on each tenant/resident to create a flow of continuing care; follows safety procedures and keeps the charge nurse informed of all relevant resident information through close observation.

• Perform and chart Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in accordance with each resident's nursing care plan.
• Administer medication under direction of the RN/LPN on duty.
• Treat each resident as an individual and address them respectfully.
• Assist residents with nutrition and hydration, monitoring food and fluid intake as well as physically assisting with dining as needed.
• Ensure resident rooms are kept clean and organized.
• Exhibit the highest degree of commitment to Person-Directed Care philosophy.

• Have obtained your CNA licensure, according to Department of Inspections and Appeals guidelines.

• Can assist residents in case of an emergency, including during evacuation procedures.
• Maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
• Can pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

ABOUT OUR ASSISTED LIVING DEPARTMENT:

CNAs working in Assisted Living, are referred to as Resident Aides. They assist residents with daily activities, such as bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and medication management. They also provide assistance with laundry, housekeeping, and more.
