Job summary

Sommerset Neighborhood Assisted Living is seeking a full-time Activity Assistant to support residents with meaningful activities. You will set up and lead activities in memory care and high acuity areas, take attendance, and help residents stay engaged throughout the day.

A positive attitude, high energy, and the ability to work well with supervisors and co-workers are essential. Excellent attendance and reliability are required. We offer Health, Vision, Dental insurance, PTO and a 401K.

Job description

The activity assistant serves a crucial part of our team. This individual becomes a friend to the residents. You build meaningful relationships and make a difference in their daily lives by providing meaningful activities that stimulate the residents mentally, socially, physically, and spiritually.

The position is FT, generally M-F 8am-4:30p. There will be exceptions for special events that could require later hours, weekend or holidays. Excellent attendance and high motivation are critical. This position is a high paced, high-energy job. You must engage with residents, encourage and assist them to activities. You will be responsible for conducting activities in our memory care and high acuity areas. Setting up for activities, cleaning after activities, taking attendance, multi-tasking are all important components of this position.

The candidate must have a positive attitude, enjoy working with supervisors and co-workers, take direction and supervision well, and enjoy residents from all walks of life. Smiles are contagious and necessary. The candidate must be energetic and part of our warm culture.
