Sommerset Neighborhood Assisted Living in Oklahoma City invites applications for a full-time Activity Assistant. The role involves creating meaningful activities that stimulate residents mentally, socially, physically, and spiritually, in memory care and high-acuity areas.

You will set up and clean up activities, take attendance, multi-task, and engage with residents daily. A positive attitude, reliability, and ability to work with seniors from diverse backgrounds are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in coordinating activities for seniors is preferred but not required.
• Ability to engage with residents and maintain a positive, energetic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct meaningful activities for residents in memory care and high acuity areas.
• Set up activities, clean up, take attendance and multitask throughout shifts.
• Engage with residents to foster a warm, caring environment.

The activity assistant serves a crucial part of our team. This individual becomes a friend to the residents. You build meaningful relationships and make a difference in their daily lives by providing meaningful activities that stimulate the residents mentally, socially, physically, and spiritually.

The position is FT, generally M-F 8am-4:30p. There will be exceptions for special events that could require later hours, weekend or holidays. Excellent attendance and high motivation are critical. This position is a high paced, high‑energy job. You must engage with residents, encourage and assist them to activities. You will be responsible for conducting activities in our memory care and high acuity areas. Setting up for activities, cleaning after activities, taking attendance, multi‑tasking are all important components of this position.

The candidate must have a positive attitude, enjoy working with supervisors and co-workers, take direction and supervision well, and enjoy residents from all walks of life. Smiles are contagious and necessary. The candidate must be energetic and part of our warm culture.
