Greater Philadelphia YMCA is seeking an experienced childcare professional for the 2026-2027 school year to support enriching learning experiences for children.

The role involves implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, facilitating positive interactions, and collaborating with staff to maintain a safe, engaging learning environment.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent, or enrollment in 2+ years of child development coursework.
• 2+ years verified child care experience
• Prior experience working with children (professional, volunteer, or familial)
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and trainings including 6 hours annually

Responsabilidades

• Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn while maintaining safe environments.
• Implement curriculum for program with developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Provide quality interactions with children and positive feedback.
• Use positive reinforcement for redirection and behavior management.
• Communicate effectively and timely with parents/guardians.
• Maintain attendance records, emergency binders, allergy reports, and paperwork.
• Ensure centers are stocked with learning materials and organized learning centers.
• Attend monthly team planning meetings

What Is Needed For This Job

• High school diploma or equivalent, or enrollment in 2+ years of child development coursework
• 2+ years verified child care experience
• Prior experience working with children (professional, volunteer, or familial)
• Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
• Ability to pass all relevant clearances and keep up to date on trainings including but not limited to 6 hours of child care related trainings annually

The responsibilities we will trust you with:

• Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn, while maintaining control of environments that build children’s self esteem
• Implement curriculum for program; ensuring child centered and developmentally appropriate learning experiences, including potentially overseeing classroom staff
• Providing quality and appropriate adult/child interactions through engagement, positive and encouraging feedback, and asking open ended questions
• Utilize positive reinforcement techniques for redirection as a form of behavior management
• Being patient and kind with our parents/guardians, communicating effectively and in a timely manner
• Accurately maintain daily attendance records, emergency contact binders, and allergy reports, as well as compliant paperwork within timesheets, incident reports, weekly reports, and child observation reports
• Ensure centers are maintained with quality learning materials, organized accordingly in labeled containers associated with appropriate learning center
• Attend team-planning meetings monthly or more as needed
