Job summary

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical knowledge required.
• Experience operating and maintaining heavy machinery.
• Knowledge of watering systems and feedyard operations.
• Experience with expense management and recordkeeping.
• Degree in Agriculture preferred; work experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and allocate tasks to the yard crew.
• Repair and maintain pens and cattle care facilities on a priority basis.
• Maintain roadways and alleys in priority order.
• Enforce safety policies and regulations.
• Establish and maintain water trough cleaning schedule as per policy.
• Create and maintain preventative maintenance records for yard equipment.
• Communicate with the Yard Manager regarding operations.
• Supervise maintenance activities in the shop.
• Track and maintain yard expense and environmental records.
