**Position Overview**The Assistant Coach, Women’s Tennis, Seasonal reporting to the Head Women’s Tennis Coach within the Department of Athletics, provides part-time, seasonal support for the College’s NCAA Division III women’s tennis program. The position assists the Head Coach with practices, match preparation, student-athlete instruction and development, recruiting, conditioning, and other team-related activities.The Assistant Coach, Women’s Tennis, Seasonal works collaboratively with the Head Coach to provide a positive, competitive, and supportive experience for student-athletes while helping to maintain a program that reflects the mission and values of Endicott College and the Department of Athletics. This position is expected to work primarily during scheduled practices, competitions, recruiting activities, and other program-related activities as assigned by the Head Coach.**About Endicott College**Endicott College is a vibrant community located on Boston’s North Shore, with a beautiful oceanfront campus in Beverly, Massachusetts. We’re known for combining academic excellence with hands-on learning, and we take pride in fostering a supportive environment for both students and employees.Working at Endicott means joining a close-knit campus community where your contributions matter and where collaboration, creativity, and professional growth are valued.**Key Responsibilities****Coaching and Practice Support (40%)*** Assist the Head Coach with the planning and implementation of scheduled team practices.* Provide tennis instruction and individual or small-group coaching to student-athletes.* Assist with drills, skill development, match preparation, and team activities.* Provide constructive feedback and instruction to student-athletes in support of their athletic development.* Help promote a positive team environment focused on sportsmanship, accountability, teamwork, and personal growth.* When requested and appropriate, assist with or take responsibility for a scheduled practice in the absence of the Head Coach.**Match and Competition Support (40%)*** Assist the Head Coach with preparation for scheduled matches and competitions.* Assist with match-day organization, warm-ups, team preparation, and student-athlete support.* Provide coaching and instruction during competitions as directed by the Head Coach.* Assist with scouting and preparation for opponents.* When requested and appropriate, assist with a match in the absence of the Head Coach.**Recruiting and Student-Athlete Development (5%)*** Assist the Head Coach with recruiting activities and the identification of prospective student-athletes.* Support recruiting communications, campus visits, and recruiting events as requested.* Assist the Head Coach in providing appropriate support and mentorship to student-athletes.* Serve as a positive role model for student-athletes and contribute to their overall development.* Follow all applicable NCAA Division III, conference, College, and Department of Athletics policies related to recruiting and student-athlete contact.**Program and Team Support (10%)*** Assist with team travel and transportation as assigned and as scheduling permits.* Assist with equipment, supplies, uniforms, and other team needs.* Help maintain organized and appropriate tennis equipment and practice areas.* Assist with basic program-related administrative tasks as requested by the Head Coach.* Represent Endicott College and the Department of Athletics in a professional manner at practices, competitions, recruiting events, and other assigned activities.**Community Engagement (5%)*** Be an active participant in the life of the College by attending and supporting key events like Commencement, Homecoming, and other all-hands-on-deck gatherings. Show a spirit of collaboration and community involvement, including volunteering when possible.* Other duties as assigned.**Reporting Structure**Reports to the Head Women’s Tennis Coach. Works under the general direction of the Head Coach and receives regular direction regarding coaching, recruiting, practices, competitions, and other assigned program responsibilities.**Supervisory Responsibilities**No supervisory responsibilities**Core Competencies*** **Reliability:** able to get the job done, available and engaged with the job and the Endicott community.* **Organization:** organizes time and resources well so that work is done efficiently and on time.* **Communication Skills:** has clear, effective and efficient ways of communicating, both orally and in writing.* **Adaptability:** shows a willingness to adopt new ideas and to do things differently.* **Follow Through:** takes ownership of projects and sees them through fruition.* **Customer Service:** anticipates the needs and responds to queries in a timely, competent, and approachable manner.* **Initiative/Personal Leadership:** identifies opportunities for improvement and actively contributes to solutions.* **Team Player:** shows a willingness to collaborate and share information, knowledge and experience with team members.**Qualifications and Skills*** Bachelor’s degree required.* Knowledge of tennis instruction, training, competition, and student-athlete development.* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.* Ability to effectively work with college-age student-athletes.* Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach and members of the Department of Athletics.* Strong organizational and time-management skills.* Ability to work evenings and weekends consistent with the team’s practice and competition schedule.* Ability to travel occasionally with the team, as assigned and as scheduling permits.* Ability to comply with NCAA Division III, conference, College, and Department of Athletics rules, policies, and procedures.* Uses sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential matters.**Preferred Qualifications*** Previous collegiate tennis coaching experience.* Collegiate tennis playing experience.* Experience working with student-athletes in a coaching, mentoring, or instructional capacity.* Experience with recruiting prospective student-athletes.* Knowledge of NCAA Division III athletics.* Relevant tennis coaching certifications or professional development.In compliance with Massachusetts pay transparency law, the pay for this position is $2,000 per season. This pay reflects base pay only and does not include other potential compensation or benefits.
