Job summary

PennWest is seeking an assistant swim coach to support the Head Swim Coach in directing the program and advancing student-athlete development. You will help plan training, implement practice plans, and ensure alignment with university goals and athletics department policies.

You will also assist with recruitment, fundraising, public relations, and event administration, working to create an inclusive and professionally guided team environment.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have strong communication skills.
• Experience in developing women’s swim athletes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing in-season and off-season training schedules.
• Assist in formulating daily practice plans that are progressive and aligned with team and individual abilities.
• Instruct athletes in skills and strategies to maximize performance.
• Discipline student athletes when rules are not followed.
• Coordinate and supervise events under the athletic department guidelines.
• Assist in fundraising initiatives and public relations efforts for the program.
• Support recruiting efforts in compliance with NCAA regulations.
• Carry out assigned coaching duties designated by the head coach.
• Assist with event administration for home and away competitions.
