This is not a corporate, remote, or office-based position. This is a full-time, assistant manager position located at Johnson Brothers distribution center in St. Paul, MN. Johnson Brothers is seeking customer focused individuals to lead a team of hourly employees in our operations network! Our warehouses are dynamic environments where standing, walking, and having on-the-production floor conversations are common as a leader.As an Assistant Warehouse Manager, you will be responsible for engaging, leading, and developing your team in a warehouse environment. Your main focus will be motivating, mentoring, and managing your team to meet goals. As a people manager, you will ensure that your team has all the tools needed to succeed and maintain the highest levels of safety, quality, attendance, and performance at work.Job Description:Shift: Mon-Thurs night, 5:30 PM start, 10+ hour shiftsKey job responsibilities:Order Selection & ReplenishmentSchedule and coordinate order selection and replenishment activities according to production and delivery requirements.Ensure all orders are selected accurately and replenishments are completed on time.Personnel ManagementHire, train, and develop selection and replenishment personnel.Manage, coach, and evaluate employees to ensure performance and compliance with company standards.Foster a positive and safe work environment that encourages teamwork and accountability.Operations & Quality ControlMaintain established quality standards for order selection and warehouse operations.Oversee loading and unloading of products to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and safety.Coordinate with other departments to resolve operational issues.Safety & ComplianceEnforce and maintain all safety policies and procedures for the shift.Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all incidents are properly reported and addressed.Administrative & Payroll OversightManage timekeeping and payroll for shift personnel, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Complete required reports and documentation in a timely manner.Additional DutiesPerform other warehouse duties and projects as assigned by management.Basic Qualifications5+ years of supervisory experience leading warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or similar operations.Experience leading teams of 20 or more employees.Demonstrated experience handling employee relations, coaching, performance management, interviewing, and hiring.Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.Must be able to work assigned hoursAbility to operate warehouse equipment safely and promote safe work practices.Must be able to endure prolonged periods of standing and walking.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).Experience leading teams through operational or organizational change.The expected pay range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
