Rite Rug is seeking an Assistant Warehouse Manager to join our growing team in Manassas, VA. The role supports daily warehouse operations including receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment to ensure accurate, timely distribution of flooring products.

The position emphasizes leadership of warehouse staff, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with purchasing, sales, and customer service to optimize product availability and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of warehouse experience required.
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Experience in flooring, building materials, construction supply, or a related industry is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping of flooring products and installation materials.
• Ensure orders are accurately pulled, packaged, and prepared for delivery or customer pickup.
• Monitor warehouse workflow and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Assist with scheduling and coordinating warehouse personnel to meet operational demands.
• Maintain warehouse organization and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with inventory control processes, including cycle counts and physical inventories.
• Monitor inventory levels and report discrepancies, damages, shortages, or overages.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of flooring materials.
• Research and resolve inventory variances in a timely manner.
• Provide daily guidance to warehouse associates and forklift operators.
• Assist with employee training on procedures, safety, and policies.
• Promote teamwork and a positive work environment.
• Participate in performance evaluations and coaching.
• Verify incoming shipments and coordinate outbound deliveries.
• Work with other teams to ensure product availability and accuracy.
• Assist in resolving shipping and delivery issues.
• Enforce OSHA and safety policies; conduct safety inspections.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of forklifts and equipment.
• Promote safe material handling practices.
• Monitor equipment and report maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with vendors for repairs or maintenance.
