Job summary

Nassau Community College (NCC) invites applications for a full-time Assistant Vice President in the Office of Facility Management. The AVP provides leadership, direction, and supervision for all assigned facility management departments in alignment with the College’s strategic plan.

Emphasis is on data-informed, equity-focused decision-making to enhance student access and enrollment, with collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business or Public Administration, with substantial leadership/management experience in a unionized environment.
• Experience directing capital project initiatives and campus upkeep, with budget oversight in coordination with College, County and state agencies.
• Strong ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining confidentiality.
• Knowledge of contracting procedures, including RFPs, construction contracts and design-build contracts.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills with a data-informed/ equity-focused mindset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with capital budgets and expedite budget reviews and approvals with senior leadership.
• Provide leadership for major campus capital construction and capital renovation projects.
• Oversee all campus construction from design to completion.
• Identify and implement efficiency and sustainability programs for the campus.
• Ensure alignment with SUNY guidelines and the College’s Master Planning documents.
• Supervise staff and maintain regulatory compliance and reporting.
