Job summary

1011 United Overseas Bank Ltd is seeking an AML triage professional to support the review triggers, assignments, and SLA adherence. You will coordinate with internal teams and Malaysia to ensure timely BAU delivery while maintaining policy controls and maker-checker processes.

The role requires 2–5 years in AML operations, familiarity with sanctions screening and KYC, and strong analytical and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 2–5 years in AML operations, screening, KYC, or workflow/assignment-related roles.
  • Familiarity with AML, sanctions screening, and correspondent banking risk indicators.
  • Experience with SLA management, queue routing, or high-volume operational environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the triage of AML review triggers including but not limited to OGR, Post-STR and internal monitoring reviews
  • Ensure trigger events are delegated accurately and escalated where required
  • Drive adherence to triage SLAs and operational procedures
  • Manage assignment of alerts and cases to review teams based on determined criteria
  • Monitor assignment accuracy and workload balancing review teams
  • Oversee case reservoir management, distribution and assignment tracking
  • Ensure high-priority and time-sensitive cases are managed within stipulated timelines
  • Establish and maintain SOPs, controls and maker-checker processes for triage and assignment activities
  • Monitor control effectiveness and ensure compliance with AML/CFT policies and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and present MIS on trigger volumes, assignment timeliness, productivity and backlog management

Job Description
  • Support the triage of AML review triggers including but not limited to OGR, Post-STR and internal monitoring reviews

  • Establish and maintain SOPs, controls and maker‑checker processes for triage and assignment activities
  • Monitor control effectiveness and ensure compliance with AML/CFT policies and regulatory requirements
  • Perform regular reconciliations and completeness checks to ensure all triggered alerts are captured and assigned appropriately
  • Liaise with internal AML teams, External support teams, Data Analytics, Compliance, Business Units and Technology teams on trigger management and workflow enhancements
  • Coordinate and work closely with colleagues in Malaysia to ensure timely delivery of BAU activities and remediation initiatives in accordance with established SLAs
  • Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of issues relating to case creation, assignment, enrichment and workflow routing
  • Support policy implementations, remediation exercises and operational change initiatives
  • Prepare and present MIS on trigger volumes, assignment timeliness, productivity and backlog management
  • Track key operational metrics and identify trends, bottlenecks and capacity risks
  • Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance operational efficiency
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
Experience
  • Minimum 2–5 years in AML operations, screening, KYC, or workflow/assignment-related roles
  • Familiarity with AML, sanctions screening, and correspondent banking risk indicators
  • Experience with SLA management, queue routing, or high‑volume operational environments preferred
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Experience with dashboards or data tools (Power BI, Power Query, SQL) is an advantage
  • Strong analytical abilities with the ability to interpret large datasets and operational metrics
Soft Skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in decision‑making
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and control mindset
Certifications
  • AML‑related professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, ICA, ACFCS) are a plus
