Job summary

Jennings School District is seeking an Assistant Volleyball Coach to support the Head Coach in planning and conducting practices and competitions. Responsibilities include teaching volleyball fundamentals and providing individual instruction to enhance player performance.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong leadership skills, knowledge of volleyball, and the ability to mentor student-athletes. Previous coaching experience is preferred. This role is crucial for fostering teamwork and good sportsmanship in a safe environment.

Qualifications

• Previous volleyball playing and/or coaching experience preferred.
• Ability to pass required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices, drills, and game strategies.
• Teach and demonstrate volleyball fundamentals, techniques, and rules.
• Provide individual and team instruction to improve player performance.
• Help prepare athletes physically and mentally for practices and competitions.
• Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, and team activities.
• Promote teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
• Monitor player attendance, effort, and academic eligibility as required.

Skills

Knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and coaching principles

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes

Education

Current CPR, First Aid, and any required coaching certifications
