Job summary

CRC Group seeks an experienced Senior Underwriter to execute complex underwriting across assigned lines with high autonomy. You will develop pricing strategies, mentor junior underwriters, and manage sophisticated portfolios in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities include evaluating submissions, negotiating terms, ensuring compliance, and collaborating with brokers to achieve profitability and growth while monitoring market trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional underwriting experience in commercial or specialty lines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex accounts and applying advanced underwriting judgment.

Applies advanced knowledge to assess risk, develop pricing strategies, and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards. Serves as a technical expert and may mentor junior underwriters while managing sophisticated accounts or portfolios.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of professional underwriting experience in commercial or specialty lines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex accounts and applying advanced underwriting judgment.
  • Experience in portfolio analysis and strategic account management is preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES / REGISTRATIONS
  • Completion of industry designations such as CPCU, AU, or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • State-specific insurance licenses may be required depending on jurisdiction.
FUNCTIONAL SKILLS
  • Advanced analytical and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship management capabilities.
  • Proficiency in underwriting systems and rating tools.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and exposure data for decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in complex scenarios.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards.

The annual base salary for this position is $150,000.00 - $200,000.00.
