POSITION DETAILS

Lehman College, a senior college of The City University of New York, is nationally recognized for its commitment to educational access, academic excellence, and upward mobility. Serving one of the most diverse student populations in the nation, Lehman is dedicated to empowering students through high impact educational experiences, strong academic support, and comprehensive pathways to degree completion and career success. Within this mission, the Division of Enrollment Management plays a pivotal role in advancing student opportunity and achievement by integrating recruitment, retention, engagement, and completion strategies across the student lifecycle. The Division’s work reflects Lehman’s core values: expanding access, ensuring opportunity, and transforming the lives of students, their families, and their communities.

The Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for core enrollment functions at Lehman College. Reporting to the Vice President of Enrollment Management, the AVP directly oversees Admissions Processing, Recruitment, Admissions Technologies & Events, Scholarships & Awards, and College Now (Dual Enrollment). In addition the AVP will lead the division in the absence of the Vice President. The AVP ensures cohesive, student centered operations serving undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral populations; leads the college’s K-16 pathway initiatives—including bridge programs, professional apprenticeships, and other structured pathways; and spearheads the division’s grant‑writing efforts to support enrollment innovation and student success. This role requires a collaborative, results-oriented leader with a strong commitment to access and cross‑divisional partnership.

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for undergraduate, graduate, and dual enrollment admissions at Lehman College, advancing the College’s mission as a public, urban, Hispanic- and Minority-Serving Institution committed to access, equity, and student success.
  • Provide programmatic oversight for the CUNY Future Ready, CUNY explorers, and the strategic allocation of Lehman Scholarship funds.
  • Oversee the end-to-end admissions operation for all academic programs, including policy development, application review and processing, communications strategy, and compliance with CUNY, state, and accreditation requirements.
  • Partner with Lehman’s Office of Communications and Marketing and Enrollment Communications to design and execute enrollment and recruitment strategies tailored to the Bronx, New York City, and regional markets, including school- and community-based partnerships.
  • Direct admissions technologies to optimize CRM (Slate) and application platforms, communications workflows, analytics dashboards, and campus visit and recruitment experiences to support enrollment growth and persistence.
  • Provide leadership for College Now and K-16 pathway initiatives, deepening partnerships with NYC public schools, ensuring academic integrity and compliance, and expanding early college access and credit-bearing opportunities. Also, establish partnerships with local and regional school districts, broadening recruitment areas.
  • Collaborate closely with academic departments, honors (Macaulay Honors, Lehman Scholars) and access programs (e.g., SEEK, ACE, Adult Degree Program), and graduate programs to align admissions and recruitment strategies with institutional and university priorities and targeted student populations.
  • Work in partnership with Strategic Persistence Initiatives, Credit for Prior Learning, and transfer leadership to strengthen community college pathways and adult learner pipelines, including the strategic use of prior learning assessment to support access and degree completion.
  • Serve as a key enrollment advisor to the Vice President for Enrollment Management, contributing to college-wide enrollment planning, forecasting, and continuous improvement efforts through the development and monitoring of key performance indicators and enrollment metrics.
  • Advance a student-centered admissions experience that reflects Lehman’s commitment to belonging and academic excellence, ensuring that campus visits, communications, and first impressions cultivate connection, trust, and yield.
  • Ensure effective stewardship of admissions resources, including personnel, budget, technology, and workflows, while continually assessing processes and practices to improve efficiency, service delivery, and alignment with CUNY and Lehman strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Life, and Academic Programs and Student Success to develop undergraduate initiatives that promote retention and graduation, and successful pipeline programs that enable the university to reach its strategic goals.
