Longmeadow High School, part of the Longmeadow Public School District, seeks an Assistant Varsity Wrestling Coach to lead and support athletes in developing skills and academic growth.

The role requires educational prep in the area, potential prior coaching experience, and commitment to high standards. Responsibilities include planning instruction, coordinating with the athletic department, and ensuring compliant, respectful learning environments.

Qualifications

• Educational preparation relevant to area of instruction.
• Prior relevant successful experience preferred.
• Such other qualifications or alternatives as the Principal and Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
• At least 1 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, encourage, and assist students to develop their individual potential for intellectual and emotional growth, resulting in learning and achievement of high standards.
• Plan and deliver instruction for wrestling within the athletic program.
• Maintain professional knowledge and practice through development activities and apply research to instructional design.
• Set goals for sport performance and develop practice schedules; promote active learning and assess progress.
• Communicate effectively with players, parents, staff and administration; attend team meetings.
• Be available for conferences and contribute to athletic program improvement while complying with regulations.
