Job summary

Columbia School District is seeking a part-time Assistant Varsity Wrestling Coach to lead training, coaching, and competition preparation for high school athletes. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, fundamentals, and effective communication with students, families, and staff.

Mandatory AED/CPR certification and completion of M.H.S.A.A. CAP training for first-time coaches; MHSA A rules meeting must be completed prior to the season start.

Qualifications

• Coaching experience preferred.
• AED/CPR certification required.
• First-time coach must complete CAP training per M.H.S.A.A. guidelines.
• M.H.S.A.A. rules meeting must be completed.

Responsibilities

• Organize meaningful training sessions.
• Implement the expectations and demands of high school athletes.
• Teach the fundamentals of wrestling.
• Prepare the team for competition.
• Communicate with players, parents, media, and school staff.
• Organize and maintain individual and team statistics.
• Supervise bus and locker room operations.
• Enforce all team rules and regulations.
