Hampshire High School is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the role of Assistant Wrestling Coach with a strong knowledge of Wrestling and a focus on student-athletic achievement. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, organized, flexible, able to take direction from the head coach and/or direct supervisor, and able to work and communicate with parents and the Booster Club.

Performance Responsibilities / Requirements / Qualifications

• Assistant wrestling coaching experience is preferred. Must be able to coach at all levels within the program, organized, flexible, and able to take direction from the head coach and/or direct supervisor, and able to work with parents and the Booster Club.
• Enhance, improve, and maximize students' athletic skills required to compete at a high level.
• Support student-athlete's strength and speed training, fundraising, organization of equipment, and other tasks as directed to maximize student achievement and ensure accurate records are maintained.
• Organize and oversee specific program levels or areas of responsibility.
• Communicate with the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director to secure facilities to ensure a safe practice/competition environment for students.
• Support the philosophy, programmatic instruction of sequential fundamentals, and proper conditioning communicated by the head coach.
• Communicate and plan with the head coach practice sessions and competition strategies to ensure the health and physical well-being of the student participants.
• Coordinate with the head coach and Athletic Director all in-season practices.
• Assure that all student participants at his/her program level are in compliance with D300 and IHSA requirements including current athletic physical, Code of Conduct, fees paid, and are academically eligible prior to practice, tryout, and competition.
• Model and instill the values of sportsmanship and fair play to all participants, and enforce consequences for breach of such standards.
• Attend all student-athlete practices, games, and monitor proper supervision at all practices, games, and on school-provided transportation.
• Maintain and provide the head coach with end-of-season individual and team records and statistics.
• Participate in a mandatory preseason parent meeting.
• Assist the head coach in planning for the seasonal recognition program.
• Assist in the orderly distribution and collection of uniforms and equipment.
• Engage in personal professional development activities.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Athletic Director.
