Job summary

Eastern Montgomery High School in Elliston, VA, seeks an Assistant Varsity Boys' Outdoor Track Coach for the 2026-2027 school year. The coach will support fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship while prioritizing athlete safety and academic eligibility.

This is a supplemental, season-based role with duties set by the Athletic Director and school calendar. The position is part-time, with compensation per the school board athletic supplement schedule, and requires on-site attendance,

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
VHSL required courses must be completed.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents, students, and administrators.
Ability to motivate students and be dependable and punctual.
Regular and predictable on-site attendance is required.
CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and implement a high quality athletic program stressing fundamentals, teamwork and sportsmanship while maintaining safety.
Monitor academic performance to ensure athletes meet eligibility requirements.
Coordinate with Athletic Director/Principal and schedule practices, games, and travel within the season.
Support coaching staff and adhere to the school board supplement schedule.
