Description

The Assistant Coach for Girls Varsity Lacrosse will support the Head Coach and provide guidance to the players' academic and athletic experience. They assist the head coach in the offensive/defensive strategy and game management of the athletic curriculum and program development.

1. Coach, coordinate, and assist the Head Coach in supervising and coordinating the offensive/defensive strategy of the program.
2. Adhere to policies established in The Lawrenceville School Coaches Handbook.
3. Attend scheduled practices and athletic contests and assist with game management.
4. Attend professional conferences and required institutional meetings (when applicable).
5. Commit to continued professional growth through a plan of professional development.
6. Stay current in and expand knowledge of coaching techniques.
7. Model and ensure diversity and cultural competency in all responsibilities, respecting and welcoming cultural differences regardless of race, creed, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, and other protected characteristics.
8. Perform other duties as requested.

Requirements

1. At least 5 years of successful coaching experience in a high school, college, club, or professional setting.
2. College, US National, and/or International playing experience.
3. High school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.
4. At least 2 years of coaching experience in a high school or college setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5. Ability to motivate and inspire students.
6. Effective communication skills with groups and individuals, and the ability to interact positively with peers, the public, students, and parents.
7. Ability to review, understand, and apply concepts from training programs, conferences, and professional literature.
8. Willingness to manage a Monday-Saturday schedule, including travel and possible Sundays for raindates.
