Job description

Job Title: Varsity Head Girls Basketball Coach

Job Goals:

• Oversee the entire Girls' Basketball Program (High School and Middle School).
• Develop, monitor, supervise, and train student-athletes of all skill levels.
• Build relationships and mentor student-athletes academically and athletically.
• Instruct in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training for individual and team success.
• Promote moral values, pride, social behavior, self-discipline, self-confidence, and sportsmanship among student-athletes.

Performance Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with school offices and the District Athletic Department regarding information requests.
2. Meet all requirements set by the District Board of Education, PIAA, and the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
3. Model expected behavior, including punctuality, positivity, respect, and constructive criticism.
4. Maintain appropriate attire and sideline conduct during practices and games.
5. Distribute and enforce training and conduct rules, following due process for violations.
6. Review academic eligibility of student-athletes regularly.
7. Adhere to policies outlined in the Coaches Handbook and job description.
8. Implement all applicable administrative policies from the District and governing bodies.
9. Schedule and conduct a full season of contests, including state tournaments.
10. Begin preseason practices as per PIAA regulations.
11. Participate in coaching clinics and school events to enhance coaching skills.
12. Demonstrate enthusiasm and sound judgment in decision-making.
13. Accept constructive criticism and seek continuous improvement.
14. Apply effective coaching techniques and adapt to game situations.
15. Stay knowledgeable about the sport and innovative in coaching methods.
16. Ensure team readiness and motivate players to meet goals, emphasizing good personal behavior.
17. Promote sportsmanship consistently.
18. Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
